One person was killed and two injured in a two-car accident in unincorporated Kane County on Sunday, according to the Kane County Sheriff’s office. According to police, a 2012 Ford Focus was driving eastbound on Route 38 just west of Meredith Road at about 12:30 pm when it crossed the center line. The Focus struck a 2007 BMW SUV driving west.

Kelly Morsch, 23, of Hinckley, the driver and only occupant of the Focus, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was flown to the hospital in Downers Grove, and a passenger was taken to Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. The injuries did not seem life-threatening, according to the sheriff’s office. No citations have been issued, and the accident is still under investigation.
