Two women were killed in single-car accidents within hours of each other in the Chicago area on Thursday.

The first accident occurred in suburban Chicago Ridge. Cindy Schultz, 50, was pronounced dead after she was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. According to Chicago Ridge police, she lost control of her vehicle and hit a tree at about 1:15 pm as she was driving on Ridgeland Avenue near 106th Street.

The second accident occurred in an unincorporated Coral Township area in Huntley. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded to the one-car accident at 5:10 pm on Church Road. According to police, a 2006 Chrysler 300 was driving westbound and left the road, crossing a ditch and hitting two trees.

The driver, Cynthia Pauza, 41, was wearing a seat belt and pronounced dead at the scene.
