One Person Killed in Accident with Semi-Truck in Randolph Co

According to Illinois State Police, one person was killed in an accident involving a car and a semi-truck on Woodcox Road and Illinois Route 154.

The accident happened around 3:30 pm on Friday when Myron Hughes, 21, of Belleville, was driving a car westbound on Illinois Route 154 when he lost control and entered the eastbound lane. His car struck a semi driven by Shawn Lever, 41.

The semi-truck hit the passenger side of the car and Hughes was ejected from the vehicle. Hughes was pronounced dead at the scene. Lever was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
