No injuries have been reported after a crash involving a school bus and a semi-trailer truck Thursday, September 27 in Paxton.

According to Illinois State Police, the school bus was traveling northbound on Ford County Road 2000 East and stopped at the intersection with Illinois 9. The driver of the bus, 52-year-old Rodney Riblet of Paxton, said he did not see the semitrailer driving westbound and he turned into the truck’s path.

The driver, John Lofton, 40, of Michigan, hit the rear of the bus. There were four children between the ages of 8 and 16 on the bus, as well as the driver and an adult monitor. No one was injured. Riblet was, however, issued a ticket for failure to yield and the truck driver, Lofton, was issued a citation for failing to have a log book.
