One Dead After Madison County Accident

A woman from O’Fallon, Illinois was killed Friday morning in a traffic accident near Troy, according to police. Debora Daugherty-Henderson, 54, was driving her Chevy Malibu westbound on U.S. Highway 40 and exiting on I-55/70 around 9:00 am when her vehicle left the road.
The car went airborne and was hit by a tractor-trailer driving north, according to the Madison County Coroner. Daugherty-Henderson was trapped under the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Police are still investigating the accident.
