Franklin County Crash Injures 1

A Decatur man suffered severe injuries in a traffic accident at the intersection of Thompsonville Road and Illinois 14 in Franklin County. Cortez A. Brown, 40, was airlifted to a hospital in Evansville, Indiana after the accident that happened at 7:45 am on Wednesday morning.

Brown was driving westbound on Illinois 14 when his vehicle collided with a pickup driven by Vernon Williams, 53, of Pittsburg. Williams was driving northbound on Thompsonville Road and did not stop and a stop sign, entering the intersection and colliding with Brown’s vehicle. Williams was uninjured, but he was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and disobeying a traffic control device.
