Carmi Teen Killed in Accident, Driver Charged with DUI

A Carmi teen was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday in White County. The driver was arrested, according to Illinois State Police. Gregory Dillman, 18, was killed at approximately 12:30 am when the pickup truck driven by Cameron Gunter, 20, left White County Road and overturned.

Dillman was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Gunter was transported to the hospital with injuries and later transported to White County Jail. he was charged with DUI, driving on a suspended license, gift or delivery of alcoholic liquor to persons under 21, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, and resisting a peace officer.

Three other passengers, Brittanie Garrison, 19, Kenley Masterson, 18, and a 17-year-old from Carmi, were taken to White County Jail and charged with illegal consumption by a minor. None of the five occupants were wearing seat belts. Additional charges are pending.
