Four people were killed and another four were injured early morning on September 26, 2013, in a single vehicle rollover crash that left the outbound lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway at Addison Road closed. According to officials, a 2003 Silver Ford Explorer rolled into a ditch at 6:08 am off Interstate 290, and the westbound lanes were shut down within the hour. Illinois State Police initially reported three deaths, but a fourth fatality was reported at 8:15 am. Four other people in the Explorer were also hurt.

While it’s not known yet what caused the accident, police said the driver lost control, and the vehicle overturned before rolling into the ditch. Drivers were being diverted off the roadway at Illinois Route 83 and officials said the lanes would most likely reopen some time after 10:00 am.
