What causes muscle strains?
If you or a loved one has sustained a sprain or strain injury from an accident, contact 844 See Mike for a free consultation so we can help you recover from this experience and get fairly compensated.
A strain is when a muscle or tendon in your body gets overstretched or torn. Tendons are the flexible bands of tissue that attach muscles to bones. Acute strains occur suddenly while chronic strains develop over time due to repetitive movements from an activity. Symptoms of a strain include pain, swelling, and bruising in the affected area; muscle weakness, cramps, or spasms; and also difficulty moving the area or a limited range of motion.
Rather than the tendon getting damaged, the other area that could be affected in a strain injury is the muscle in a muscle sprain. This is also commonly referred to as a “pulled muscle.” After an accident causing injury, muscle strains often result from a few common possibilities which include the following:
- Sports injuries – This is often seen in after a football tackle or after pressure is quickly and awkwardly applied to a muscle in sports such as basketball.
- Physical overexertion – You can pull a muscle while lifting or carrying heavy objects that strain the muscle fibers.
- Motor vehicle accidents – These accidents can cause heavy blows to the body that could result in a muscle strain.
- Falls – A fall where you land in an awkward position could potentially cause the muscle to tear.
If another person caused your injuries, you can file a claim against them for monetary damages. Medical care for a strain or sprain is not cheap, and it certainly is not cheap when it involves potential complications that you may have had to deal with. With our help, we can help you recover the costs of your medical bills, lost wages, and other damages that resulted from another person’s actions.
