How many accidents are caused by drunk driving in Illinois?

Under the Illinois Zero Tolerance Law, 397 drivers under the age of 21 lost their driving privileges as well. Illinois had a total of 1,090 fatal crashes in 2017. Of those fatalities, 330 people were killed due to alcohol-related crashes.

The average DUI offender is male (75% of those arrested are male), between the ages of 21-25, who was driving with a BAC of 0.16 g/dl, twice the legal limit.
