Woman Killed in I-55 Accident Near Troy

According to Illinois State Police, a 54-year-old woman is dead after an accident Friday morning on I-55 near Troy. Reports show the woman entered I-55 from the highway 40 ramp and then lost control of her 1999 Chevrolet Malibu, which went airborne.
It was then that a tractor trailer struck her vehicle. She was declared dead at the scene, but her identity has not been released yet and police are still investigating the accident.
