A two-car accident in Pittsfield, Illinois injured a woman from Milton. Candace R. McEuen, 46, was trying to turn left into Illinois State Police District 20 headquarters, off of U.S. 54., at 10:14 a.m; her 2006 Chevrolet truck was rear-ended by a 2006 Dodge, driven by James B. Cox, 19, of Pleasant Hill. Cox was reaching down to pick his cell phone up off the car floor when he hit McEuen’s vehicle, which sustained minor damage—Cox’s vehicle was badly damaged, and he was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Cox was uninjured, McEuen was treated at the scene.
