Around 6:25 pm on Friday, police responded to an accident on I-64 eastbound involving a car and a semi-truck. Dante Langston, 34, was driving a 2007 Mercedes-Benz eastbound on I-64 near mile post 107 when he tried to pass a Red Freightliner.

As Langston passed the truck, he lost control of his vehicle on the snow-covered roadway. The Mercedes-Benz turned 90 degrees before entering the right lane in front of the semi. The truck hit the passenger side of the car, pushing it off the road.

Langston was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police say both drivers were wearing seat belts. Langston was cited for driving too fast for road conditions, improper use of registration and driving without a valid registration.
