Here are some recent swimming pool accidents in the Schaumburg area:

• In August of 2019, a 2-year-old boy was at a backyard barbeque with his family when he was found drowned to death in the pool. Despite being surrounded by others, this fatal accident could not be reversed once he was pulled out of the water after an unknown amount of time. Police are investigating.
• In July of 2018, a 3-year-old boy was found face down in a pool of a Lifetime Fitness in Schaumburg on East Higgins Road. A gym member saw him and brought him out of the water and a lifeguard performed CPR, thankfully bringing him back to consciousness.
