An I-80 EB crash at about 9:45 am on October 1 between Mokena and New Lenox is still being investigated by police. The accident caused a traffic backup from Larkin Avenues to Harlem, and it involved a semi-tractor truck and a pickup truck.

According to Sgt. Martez Malone of the Illinois State Police, the semi-tractor truck driver was changing lanes and moved in front of the pickup. The pickup truck driver then lost control and the vehicle landed in the right ditch. The identities of the drivers were not released, and one person suffered minor injuries, according to the Illinois State Police.
