Pedestrian Safety Tips for Kids
It’s very important to ensure that your children understand pedestrian safety, especially in a city as large and bustling as ours. Here are some pedestrian safety tips for kids.
Be sure that your children understand that it’s important to:
- Always look left and right before crossing the street.
- Obey all traffic signals, crosswalks, and crossing guards.
- If possible, make eye-contact with a driver before crossing to ensure that they can be seen; never assume that a driver can see them before they cross.
- As a general rule, children under 10 years of age should always cross with an adult.
- Keep an eye out for vehicles that are turning or reversing.
- Take out headphones while crossing the street.
- Avoid jaywalking and crossing in-between vehicles.
If your child has been injured in an accident due to a driver’s negligence, contact our office today and we will ensure that your child’s rights are protected and fight for full compensation for the damages.
