Pedestrian Killed in Bond County Accident

A New Year’s Day accident left a 26-year-old woman dead, according to Illinois State Police. Cody Jackson, 19, was driving his truck southbound on Illinois Route 127 when he struck the pedestrian who was standing inside the fog line of the road.
Kristy Mays of Shobonier was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. The driver was uninjured and has not been charged in the accident.
