A woman from Joppa was killed in a motorcycle crash on Monday. Valerie A Caulfield, 47, was killed on November 11 at 3:55 pm in a two-person, single-vehicle accident involving a deer.

Paul D. Meyers, Jr, 49, was driving the motorcycle on US 45 when a deer crossed the road. Meyers could not avoid impact with his Harley Davidson and struck the animal, ejecting both people from the motorcycle. Meyers was not wearing a helmet, but Caulfield was.

Meyers has been charged with violation of classification and operating an uninsured vehicle. Police are still investigating the accident.
