A 29-year-old Paxton man was injured Tuesday, October 29th in a single-car accident that’s still under investigation by the Illinois State Police. Dean Andrew Anderson, the only occupant of the vehicle, was transported to a hospital in Urbana, treated for minor injuries, and later released.

The accident occurred just before 7 am on 3700 North Road just east of 170 East Road in Vermilion County. According to the police report, Anderson was driving eastbound on the gravel road when he lost control of his Nissan Sentra. The vehicle left the road, crossed a ditch, and went into a harvested field before rolling and catching fire.

Anderson was wearing a seat belt and he was issued a ticket for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
