Norris City Bicyclist Dies of Injuries from January 12 Accident

A Norris City man hit on his bicycle on Illinois 1 on January 12 has died from injuries sustained in the bicycle accident. White County Sheriff Dough Maier confirmed that 38-year-old Kevin M. Pearce succumbed to his injuries in a hospital on Evansville, Indiana.

Pearce was riding his bicycle northbound n the southbound lanes of Illinois 1 two miles outside of Norris City at approximately 8 pm on Sunday, January 12 when he was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Malibu driven by 35-year-old James Lee Sturms of Norris City. Sturms was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, but this citation was dismissed when proper proof of insurance was provided.
