A 56-year-old woman from Naperville was killed after being hit by a car on her way to work. The accident occurred on September 25th in the intersection of Freedom Drive and Diehl Road on the north side of the city. According to police, Shwuwei Yeh was trying to cross Diehl Road on the east side of the intersection at about 7:25 am when she was hit by a 2006 gray Nissan Titan driven by a 35-year-old man from Aurora. She was transported to Edward Hospital and later died of her injuries.

According to the initial investigation, the car was driving east on Diehl Road when it hit Yeh. Sgt. Lou Cammiso said sunlight is believed to be one of the factors in the accident. Police also believe Yeh was making her way to work at the time of the accident. As Cammiso said, “Riding your bike to work is a good, healthy thing to do, but it’s a dangerous intersection to cross.”
