Man Airlifted After Motorcycle Accident in Pope County

A 65-year-old man from Fairfield was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville after he suffered serious injuries from a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon in Pope County. According to Illinois State Police, the man, Roger Gammon, was driving his 2002 Honda motorcycle on Illinois 146 when he improperly negotiated a curve close to Lightplant Road intersection.

His motorcycle went off the road and he was ejected. He was transported to Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare before he was airlifted out. He sustained severe injuries and was not wearing a helmet.
