Lake Shore Drive Shut Down After Accident on Wednesday

A city truck flipped over on Lake Shore Drive close to East Walton Street on Wednesday, shutting down the southbound lanes for nearly four hours.

The accident occurred at 2pm, when a semi truck of the Department of Streets and Sanitation flipped, according to Chicago Department News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.

Traffic was diverted and the southbound lanes and one northbound lane were close for about a block, according to police.
