Lake in the Hills man dies in motorcycle crash
A man died after being involved in a motorcycle accident on Algonquin Road at about 3:30 p.m. Monday afternoon in far northwest suburban Lake in the Hills.
Christopher Q. Gramer, 49, of Lake in the Hills, was driving a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Algonquin Road when he collided with a 2010 Ford Focus driven by Lucy Tanksley, 51, of Lake in the Hills, police said. Tanksley, who was treated and released from the scene, was traveling eastbound on Algonquin Road and told officers she was attempting to turn north on Lake Drive when the collision occurred, said Deputy Chief Pat Boulden.
The motorcycle hit the passenger side of Tanksley’s car. Gramer was found on the opposite side of the car on Algonquin Road. He was taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin where he later died. Algonquin Road was closed for about two hours during the investigation. At this time there is no indication of drugs or alcohol involved in this incident, Boulden said.
The accident remains under investigation.
