Thomas Fitzsimons, a father from Hinsdale, was killed in an car crash early on Sunday, September 22nd in Oak Brook. A memorial with the words “RIP MR. FITZ” written in orange and blue plastic cups is now visible on the fence around the Chicago Avenue bridge connecting Clarendon Hills to Hinsdale. According to his obituary, he was a married father of two children.

Ribbons can also be seen tied around trees throughout Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills. His was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a one-car accident on Spring Road early Sunday morning. The driver of the car has been charged with aggravated DUI.
