A Galesburg man was hurt in a single-car accident on Monday, according to Illinois State Police.

Luis Santiago, 43, was driving eastbound on Main Street, or Illinois Route 41, in Prairie City at around 6:20 am when he lost control of his 2000 Ford Mustang on the ice-covered road. His vehicle began to spin and hit a utility pole on the driver’s side.

Santiago was taken by ambulance to McDonough District Hospital in Macomb. He was wearing a seat belt and alcohol was not a factor, according to police.
