Fatal Car Accident in DeKalb County

A woman from Esmond, IL was killed after police say her vehicle struck a bridge abutment. The accident occurred at about 5:00 pm on Monday at Esmond Road just south of Mowers Road.
According to Sheriff’s Police, Susan Walker drove around the barricades that indicated the road was closed as the bridge ahead was still under construction. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash and Walker’s death.
