On the evening of August 30th, 2013, a 50-year-old man died after he rode his bicycle into the side of a semi trailer on Illinois Route 1-17. It happened around five in the evening, near the parking lot of the gas station and restaurant at the intersection of Routes 1-17 and Illinois Route 114, just southwest of the Kankakee River bridge. The man, from Momence, Illinois, was not named by police.
