For an overview: liability coverage, the main type of insurance, is divided into Bodily Injury (BI) and Property Damage (PD). Bodily Injury’s minimum requirement is at $25,000 per person or $50,000 per accident. Property Damage, on the other hand, is at least $20,000. In a survey conducted involving four auto insurance carriers, the cheapest minimum liability coverage cost $878 annually in the State of Illinois.
