Chrysler Motor Corp Recall 2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger
Chrysler Motor Corp. has just announced it is recalling some of its 2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger cars, built from Oct. 30, 2012, through Nov. 2, 2012. As many as 1,785 of the cars may have a broken control valve in the fuel-tank assembly, which could cause the engine to stall and possibly crash the car.
This same problem could also result in a fuel leak, leading to a fire if the leak reaches an ignition source. Chrysler said in its statement that it will notify owners of the affected vehicles, and its dealers will inspect the fuel-tank assembly and replace any defective control valves free of charge. The recall is scheduled to begin in March. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753; the recall code number is N02. Owners of affected vehicles can also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration vehicle safety hotline, at 1-888-327-4236.
