A 31-year-old Chicago woman without a driver’s license is now facing numerous charges after a fatal crash that left four dead and four injured on Thursday morning. According to police, she was speeding in a 2003 Silver Ford Explorer when it rolled into a ditch off Interstate 290 at Addison Road at about 6:08 am Thursday.

All four people killed were women, according to police. Three were ejected from the Explorer, while a fourth was in the front seat. Margot Santillan, the driver, and three males suffered injuries that ranged from mild to very serious. All of the victims involved were adults, and preliminary information police received shows they all worked for a temp agency and were traveling to work.

Santillan is charged with failure to reduce speed, improper lane usage, no valid driver’s license, no insurance and a suspended registration for no insurance. According to Lt. Brian Windle, the cause of the crash was speed and a lack of seatbelt use.

Their SUV rolled many times before landing on its roof. The westbound lanes were shut for about six hours. Investigators are still looking for witnesses to the crash and ask anyone with information to contact Illinois State Police at (847) 931-2405 #205.
