A Chicago cop died on his motorcycle on August 19, 2013—he suffered a heart attack on his bike. The off-duty officer was riding his bike in Willow Springs, a southern suburb of Chicago, trying to merge into traffic when he had a heart attack; he managed to slow his bike down and avoid hitting anyone else. He was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center.
