On August 13, 2013, a single vehicle crash in Peoria took the life of the driver. Colin J. Childs, 28, was driving east on West MacQueen Avenue, shortly after 5 a.m., when his car skidded and struck the curb, then careened into a telephone pole and guardrail. He was wearing a seatbelt; he died from head injuries (and was pronounced dead at the scene).
