Whiplash is an injury that may be considered a neck sprain or strain. It is caused by a sudden, hard back-and-forth motion of the neck and is often seen after automobile accidents due to a collision causing a person to jerk back-and-forth in their seat. This motion causes the bones, discs, ligaments, muscles, and nerves in and around the spine to get damaged.

Whiplash can appear in several different locations and the damage can occur to a number of surrounding structures. So, there can be very minor whiplash that heals on its own after a few days with at-home conservative treatment while other severe injuries may have symptoms lasting a lifetime. A minor car accident can definitely cause whiplash, but it would likely simply be a minor case.

This injury is caused by a sudden and hard back-and-forth motion of the neck. So, as long as that occurred in the minor collision in which you were involved, there is a possibility that you may have whiplash. In this case, you should still see a doctor since there can be a delayed onset of symptoms for whiplash as well as many other possible injuries. It’s best to get checked out immediately after to avoid damaging any other parts of your body that you may not know are already damaged.

If another person caused your injuries, you can file a claim against them for monetary damages. Medical care for whiplash is not cheap, and it certainly is not cheap when it involves potential complications that you may have had to deal with. With our help, we can help you recover the costs of your medical bills, lost wages, and other damages that resulted from another person’s actions.
