An Aurora man was killed on Friday when his car hit a tree in Batavia Township, according to the Kane County sheriff’s police. The man was identified as Christopher Saumell, 27. According to police, Saumell was driving northbound on Deerpath Road at about 8:15 am when his 2000 Jeep Cherokee drove off the shoulder. His vehicle crossed the road and hit a tree on the west side of the street.

He was pronounced dead at Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora and no one else was in the vehicle. Crash on Dan Ryan Speedway Injures  Three people were injured on Saturday morning when a semi-truck struck a two-car crash on the Dan Ryan Speedway on Chicago’s South Side.

The accident involving the semi-truck occurred at 2:20 am, according to police, on the inbound Dan Ryan close to 87th Street. Drivers of all three vehicles were transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with non-life-threatening injuries.
